How We've Helped Others

“I went to see Dr. Buck after suffering from migraines with no real answers. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. I had no idea and it had never even been discussed with me before. I am now wearing my device nightly and I have never felt better. I owe Dr. Buck so much for guiding me through the entire process! They are lifesavers!”

Lose the Mask ...Not The Sleep

The CPAP may be an effective way to treat sleep apnea, but most patients simply can’t stand the uncomfortable equipment and loud noises that comes along with it, resulting in non-compliance and worsening symptoms. At The Columbus Sleep Center, Dr. Buck offers a better solution: oral appliance therapy. These custom-made, safe, FDA-approved devices are designed to reposition the jaw and/or tongue just enough to prevent dangerous airway blockage, resulting in easy, uninterrupted breathing throughout the night. They’re unobtrusive, easy to wear, and even convenient to travel with! Better yet, our sleep practice offers several top-of-the-line brands of appliances so that we can determine that one that best fits your specific circumstances.

The Risks Are Real

23 million Americans suffer from type 2 diabetes. 67 million have high blood pressure. And, 160 million are either obese or overweight. Add Obstructive Sleep Apnea into the mix (which 22 million US adults have), and the risks become even more compounded. Treating sleep apnea can improve insulin sensitivity and nighttime glucose levels – and adhering to treatment is proven to decrease blood pressure. Overweight individuals are 2x more likely to suffer from sleep disorders, but even weight loss can be more difficult without the correct sleep patterns due to imbalances in hormones produced during sleep. Coming up with a plan to lose weight is an integral part of the treatment process. Dr. Buck takes a whole-body approach to treating sleep apnea, and he works with your physician to come up with a coordinated plan to achieve lasting results.
